iPhone 3GS

Ok, I'm going to try this whole blog thing again. What better way to start than give some thoughts about the hot new iPhone 3GS?

- It seems really popular. When the iPhone 3G came out, I knew of 4 people (as in close friends) who bought it and signed up on 3 year contracts. With the 3GS, I know of 5 people, which is no small feat considering all the people who would have been interested in the iPhone would have bought it last year.
- The screen, the screen. Those people who are using screen protectors are wasting the new oleophobic coating. It really works, the screen stays pristine for the most part.
- The phone is faster, no question about it. Everything feels faster. The old one almost seems unbearable now.
- The battery life seems worse, or maybe it's because I am using it more. The fact of the matter is I feel compelled to charge it at work so I can make it home with battery life left.
- The phone is hotter. It gets hot, my old one did not.
- The speakers are louder! This is a definite plus. The speakers don't crackle as much and music actually sounds listen-to-able via the phone speakers.
- I don't have the lame bug where I can't answer phone calls (because the slide to unlock thing is bugged)

All in all, it's a solid upgrade for serious iPhone fans, and a no brainer for people new to the iPhone camp.

And as a plus, babies like them.
